Policies

TIMELINESS

We believe very strongly in being prompt.  We respect your time and will start and end classes as they are advertised on the schedule.   

  • Please arrive early.  5-10 minutes is recommended as this gives you proper time to set up and allows for minimal disruption to your fellow students.

  • We will not allow for students to enter classes late.  We understand that life happens and will make 5 minute rule exceptions on a case by case basis.

      PLEASE NOTE If there is no front desk staff working, the door will be locked at the       start of class time in all efforts to protect students belongings and ensure the               safety of everyone in our studio.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS

  • Please adhere to our class cancellation policy and cancel if you cannot make it to class as we may have people on waiting lists.  

  • Late Class Cancellation Policy:  Cancellations within 12 hours of the start time

  • Late cancellations will be charged a fee based on how you paid:

Unlimited Membership Pack: $10

Drop-ins:  Non-refundable

All other class pack options: Non-refundable

NO SHOWS

  • All No Shows are non refundable and will be charged a no show fee of $10

WORKSHOPS & EVENTS

Workshop cancellations require a 72 hour email notice before the workshop takes place. Cancellation requests with less than 72 hours notice will not be honored unless we can fill your space. Workshop cancellation requests must be requested by email to: samastudionc@gmail.com Absence to a workshop, event or retreat is non-refundable. Workshops and events could occasionally be canceled by the studio if a maximum requirement number isn't met. If your event is canceled you will be notified by email, and you will receive a full refund or full credit toward your SAMA Yoga Studio account or to your original method of payment.

PRIVATE INSTRUCTION

Full payment will be charged if you cancel a private session with less than 24 hour notice.

MEMBERSHIPS & CLASS PASSES

Membership and class pass payments are non-refundable after having been processed. Both are non-transferable, non-shareable and non-extendable. 

Memberships and Class Packs can be frozen for a $20 admin fee.

GIFT CARDS

Gift Cards can be purchased online or in-studio and are non-refundable and non-returnable.  If purchased for a specific pass, they cannot be used as cash.

TEACHER TRAINING & CONTINUING EDUCATION

CELL PHONES

  • We ask that you take time to unplug from technology! Cell phones and smart watches are not allowed in our studio practice space.

  • We ask that you please silence all your devices and leave them in your designated cubby or car, so they are not a distraction to you, our instructs or your fellow students.  

  • Please take a moment to breifly disconnect from technology and give yourself the opportunity to connect further inward with yourself.

ILLNESS

  • If you feel sick or just getting over being sick, please stay at home until you have completely recovered. 

  • To help protect the well-being of our community, we've instructed our staff to stay home if they have even the slightest of symptoms and we expect students to do the same. 

FAQ

What should I wear?
A: Comfortable, light and non-restrictive clothing.

What should I bring to class?

Typically a water bottle, a small towel and a yoga mat. We do have mats available for rent or you can also purchase your own at the studio.

When should I arrive?
A: If you are new please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your class, giving you time to sign in, enjoy a quick tour, ask questions and enjoy a few moments to relax before class begins.

 

Can I book online?
A: Yes and we encourage you to do so.   This saves time and helps enhance your arrival experience. You can book into any of our classes or courses, and purchase the right pass for you here:

How can I prepare for the class?
A: Yoga should be practiced on an empty stomach so we recommend not eating for at least 2 hours prior to your class. Also aim to drink plenty of water so you’re fully hydrated for your practice.

 

This is my first yoga class ever what do I do?
If it’s your first time you’ll just need to fill out a brief form letting us know about any health updates or injuries we need to be aware of so that we can better assist guiding you through your practice.

Reminders

ETHICAL PRACTICES

  • Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start time of class.

  • Please leave your personal belongings in your designated space. No cell phones or bags in the studio.

  • Please remove shoes, flip-flops and socks before entering the studio.

  • Please enter the practice space quietly – many people come to class a few minutes early to de-stress from the day and prepare for practice.

  • Wear light, comfortable, non-restricting clothing.

  • Avoid wearing fragrances, lotions and aftershaves to class as many people have allergies and breathing is a big focus in classes.

  • Be sure to be well hydrated before coming to class. Bring a water bottle but drink sparingly throughout the class.

  • Try not eat anything for at least an hour to two hours before class and avoid anything overly filling or heavy.

  • Please do not leave class early unless it is an emergency. This helps prevent disrupting the experience for other students.  If you do have to leave early, please let your instructor know before class begins.

  • Please inform your instructor of any medical conditions or injuries that you may have if you are comfortable doing so. Examples include high blood pressure, herniated disk, joint/muscle injuries, etc. This information will help you receive proper modifications that will make practice safer and more enjoyable.
